When I turned fourteen, I was diagnosed with diabetes. As it turns out, it was the most positive, influential experience of my now 42 years. It was then that I began a 15 year adventure/career at a special little place on the edge of a lake in Northern Ontario called Camp Huronda (a camp for diabetic children).
It was at Huronda where I learned the art of friendship (and friendship bracelets), found joy in simple things (like frog hunting) and glowed in the light of a campfire with a grin on my dirty face and a song in my heart. It was where I learned the words Gimp, Warm Fuzzy, and Melmac, where I learned to act, sing, and be myself. (a bit goofy)
It is a wonderful challenge, attempting to capture the essence of freedom that is camping. Twig OriginalsTM is the end result - a combination of my love of the outdoors, the feel of a paintbrush in hand, and my adoration of a place that continuously fills my heart!
I hope these campy cards refresh your memories and rekindle your love of simple pleasures... a frog hunt, sleeping in a tent, canoeing or hanging out with your closest friends 'round a warm fire.
